Pinterest has launched the next stage of latest promotional campaign, as it looks to boost awareness among potential ad partners, and maximize take-up of its evolving ad tools.
The campaign, originally launched back in July, aims to highlight the benefits of the platform in connecting users with a wide variety of interests, with this new stage of the push focusing on party planning, recipes, and shopping discovery.
The new additions to the broader campaign are fairly slick looking animations, which add to the fantastical appeal of using the app.
The expanded promotional push is part of Pinterest's broader effort to boost revenue intake, particularly in Western markets. Because while the platform has continued to see relatively steady usage growth over the past few years (though it slowed in Q2), it hasn’t been able to capitalize on its revenue opportunities as yet.
Pinterest remains highly popular as a shopping discovery platform, with most users coming to the app with high shopping intent, and it's hoping that promos like these will help to showcase its potential value for more users, and boost in-app spending.
What’s more, Pinterest has also seen a marked increase in usage among younger demographics, which is another element that it’s hoping to tap into with this new campaign.
It's an interesting push, which could help to get more people turning to Pins in the upcoming holiday season.
